Introduction
Spirituality is often confused
with religion most people think that both are one of the same. Spirituality is
significantly different. Religion is usually practiced among a congregation and
or groups that share the same beliefs and they often fellowship on scheduled
days.
Spiritually is one’s individual beliefs that includes an association
with one’s self and sense of nature. The universe is a large part of nature
that includes being holistic. The practice of being holistic has everything
to do with the mind, body, soul, and spirit. Holistic practices tie the interconnections of emotional, physical, social aspect of
a person’s being to keep a balance (Reach
Out Australia 2017). In life, we
will experience loads of worldliness situations such as enrolling into school,
purchasing a new home, marriage, career, lifestyle, and having children.
Commonly parents will inspire their spiritual, moral, and core values upon
their youngsters. Holistic spiritual parenting starts with the perception to
honor all creatures both living and non-living. Holistic parenting also encircles
environment friendly, peacefulness, a connection to nature, and natural organic
life style. There are several essential categories for holistic parenting.
First, accomplishing informed family
choices from birth to adolescence. These
parents have determined that health, well-being, wholeness, being social are
important. The proper nourishment
practicing the method of self-restraint cultivating literacy and learning
through social and emotional growth. Second, pursing balance among peers
conveying emotion, compassion, confident techniques in developing self-control
performance and know-how in parenting. Third, engaging in our restorative
development adding harmony in our
everyday lives to assist with the healing of our mind, body and spirit in a
holistic manner. Next, Counteracting
and incorporate environmental divine bearing of living. Which consistent of
living developing, daily consumption, physical performance, therapeutic healing.
Finally, providing guidance regarding
providing guidance and appreciation to habitual creation teaching youngsters preserve their surroundings, climate and
atmosphere.
General Themes
Holistic
living creates a living that constitutes
the mind, body, soul, and spirit. Becoming one with self, nature, and ones
surrounding in a spiritual aspect that keep stress by the waist sides. In addition, to using alternative healing
methods with the use of herbs, holistic medical practices, and mediation to
embrace nature’s earth’s offerings. Holistic living preserves the earth through
human basic needs such as establishing a healthy lifestyle, social, emotional,
mental, and physical aspects. This style of living also touches on proper diet
and nourishing foods for the body. Holistic practice embraces vegan and
vegetarian lifestyles in support of holistic living. Adapting to eating
nonanimal products are considered respect of both living things. The lifestyle
incorporates and promotes eating from the earth persevering animals from being
extinct and prevention of cruelty. (Reagan 2011) speaks on holistic living
being the pathway to wellness and making those connects to healthy living. Holistic
living creates an atmosphere that appears promote spirituality developing and one’s
sense of self. I think that those with
preexisting conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, bad cholesterol can
overcome their illness using a holistic approach. Alternative mediation,
exercise, and proper diet which are main factors to deescalate the effect of
chronic illness.
Holistic and
spirituality is a mental and spiritual network
with the equivalence of social
and emotion. Holistic The combination of both holistic and spiritualty assists
us in the way we deal with our emotions. That being social interactions with
others and our inner selves. Also, being unfavorable or positive feelings, a
holistic approach assists us with balancing those emotions. Spirituality in a
holistic practice transforms our own healing and process healthy development
both holistic and spiritually. Creating interconnections to the emotional,
physical, social aspect of a person’s being to keep a balance. Yoga is a
perfect example of holistic and spirituality it involves all the key components
of interconnecting to the mind, body, soul and spirit. The movements that
require mediation, breathing techniques that the entire family could benefit
from especially children. Holistic
parenting is a philosophy that embraces that journey (Nancy Mossotto 2013).
Holistic parenting
institutes the comprehension and consideration of all living and non-living
creatures. The unique style of holistic parenting includes the following
choices made by the family and or parent (Holistic Parenting 2013). Welcoming
going green, peaceful connections of wellbeing from limited western medicine to
alternative meds for their entire family. Building a foundation based on developing and
consideration alternative organic living. This type of parenting places a cap on our
children being exhibited to commercialized outside influences that hinders and
aren’t authentic intercommunication. I find holistic parenting helpful for the
reason of parent’s main goal is to respect one self and others building a
positive relationship starting with themselves and others. Parents may have
selected holistic parenting because of undesirable outside influences that aids
in raising their children that has a negative impact. Being a holistic parent
seems to support the word “village”. The
village is a strong and positive part of the community. That includes family,
peers, friends, authority figures and schools. I would say schools has the most
influence over a child.
Holistic Education (Elenore Stoneham 2013) Indicates that one finds the soul
considerate appreciation in various elements of our universe by going green. Becoming
one with nature is an important key element of looping our youth into a
holistic study. Montessori teaching
provides great examples of holistic education. Children can explore their
surrounding without military structure its encouraged for students to identify
their own capabilities and comprehension without formal structure. Holistic
education begins with parents focusing their attention on how their children develop
then preparing them for bias tests (Riane Eisler 2005). When enrolling children into schools besides selecting
Montessori may become an issue for parents. Especially those parents that are
seeking institutions that supports holistic spiritual parenting. Policies are
usually designed as structured and general rules that are written in the
handbook to protect the rights of all students, families and or staff. Many of
our families enrolled into school come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. It’s
not to say that holistic spiritual parenting is unacceptable in fact it may be
the next step in creating a different schooling genre. Conflict, may occur
because other families may not share the same beliefs resulting in they are not
comfortable or ready to adapt. It is indicated that when children are exposed
to holistic practices it bridges a successful future of the child career,
lifestyle, morals and core values (Goncheva, M. 2015). I’d suggest if holistic
parents can’t locate a school to fit their family’s needs to speak with the
teacher and principal to incorporate the families’ practices into some of the
daily lessons. Maybe an open house night where all families can demonstrate
their culture and beliefs.
Implications
I think that parents/guardians could
utilize and incorporate holistic practices
within their home. As a matter fact, holistic practice improves oneself,
physical health, and bridges connections to support the universe. In most families,
they have adapted into this lifestyle created foundations that adapts to a
healthier life. Holistic practices should
not be limited to the classroom, also used in the homes of our families to
bring wholeness within as well as outside sources. Creating a holistic
environment has been proven to lead stress free atmosphere. These practices
lead to the foundation of spiritualty, better comprehension in classrooms,
provides a positive social and emotional growth. A Holistic lifestyle
contributes respect, exercising, applied knowledge to the universe, and ones’
essential needs. The lifestyle meets the demands that society places as rules
in our lives daily.
Reflections
Although my findings and
research to spiritual holistic parenting may have concrete evidence of families
benefiting from this lifestyle. As of today,
there are only selective schools, states, and countries that incorporate
wellness living into their curriculum, lesson plans, and policy. I think families that choose holistic living
as their foundations, assists them to make those connections, even embracing
spiritually as a learning process.

Holistic practice creates a consistent
living that constitutes the mind, body, soul, and spirit. Becoming one with
one’s self and nature. Embracing nature and the earth’s offerings using
alternative methods. Holistic living seems to describe the instruction
processing. The process of inner
layer and multiple learning styles a continuous way to approach development
and expound on the function (MacKeracher 2004).
Cognitive
information processing (CIP) theory also known as the instruction
process. The ideology is based on how we center our attention on how we view
our surroundings, Cipher and identify ourselves, and the recollection of
contemporary information.

Schools and companies could use

selves.
Holistic and spirituality describes
balance of our emotions and transformation to our healing and inner being.
Holistic and Spiritual has similarities to somatic learning. Somatic
learning is an individual transformation in a holistic approach which
involves the mind, body, and spirit. Somatic learning emotional, physical and
social aspect that modes and form the individual collectively. (Merriam
Caffarella and Baumgartner) indicates how we learn through dimensional
aspects of our senses.

Shimera,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your perspective on Spiritual Learning. I have never correlated Holistic Learning and the environment to Spiritual Learning. Through your review I learned how Spiritual Learning is connected by "Becoming one with oneself and nature". Great Job!
Shimera,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post! I am a mother of two and I really enjoyed reading about Holistic Parenting. As parents we do lay the foundation for our children, and it is up to use to teach them how to live a healthy life style.
